While it is hard to imagine Liverpool wanting to do business with Manchester United or vice versa for that matter, a move to sign Mexican international Javier Hernandez could be on the cards with Manchester United not wanting to keep him on the books past this summer.

At the moment Hernandez is in a hospital in Houston recovering from an operation on a broken collar bone he sustained during a friendly against Honduras, and is expected to be out of action for at least a month.

Having no plans in manager Louis van Gaal’s team United is eager to ship him out as soon as possible worried that this latest injury could now keep him at Old Trafford beyond the summer and up until the completion of the one-year he still has remaining on his contract, and with this in mind the Red Devils would be willing to sell him on cheaply now rather than pay his wages for the year only to watch him walk away a free agent.

This is where Liverpool comes in knowing that they could pick up the 27-year-old Mexican international for around £8 million, which seems a good price given his age and experience.
