According to news out of Italy Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has earmarked Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi to help resolve his clubs goal scoring problems at Anfield.

The 22-year-old has been on Klopp’s radar for some time even before moving to England and now with a makeshift front-line to deal with following injuries to Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke, along with a season ending blow to Danny Ings he is ready to go after the £25 million rated Icardi during the January transfer window.

The Inter Milan forward has scored three goals in ten games for the Serie A side so far this season, and was strongly linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United and Arsenal during the summer.

None of these teams resolved their striker problems during the summer and could very well battle Liverpool this winter for the former Sampdoria star.
