Liverpool are ready to battle Chelsea, Southampton and Newcastle for QPR striker Charlie Austin should the Hoops find themselves playing Championship football next season according to the Daily Star.

The former Burnley centre-forward has scored 17-goals for the struggling west London club this season, and will reportedly be offered for sale for around £10 million should QPR get relegated.

Liverpool has struggled in the goals department this season and will be looking to offload several strikers at the club who have failed to perform including Italian international Mario Balotelli.

At still only 25-years-old Austin is the time of player Liverpool could afford to take a chance on, and in our opinion would be a better club to join than Chelsea where he would likely become a third choice striker for Blues manager Jose Mourinho.

Have a look at the video below and see if you think he will be able to deliver the goods for the Reds next season.
