Liverpool is said to be heavily interested in former Manchester United target Arturo Vidal according to Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello sport.

Meanwhile the Italian Champions seem prepared to sell the Chilean midfielder as they have eyes on bringing AS Roma’s Belgium international Radja Nainggolan to Turin.

Vidal is a tireless box-to-box midfielder equally at home attacking or providing defensive duties, and at 27-years-old is at the peak of his career.

Liverpool knows that for a player of Vidal’s quality the price tag could be quite steep, but reports suggest they may be able to pick him up for as little as £14.4 million.

Manchester United have also in the past been linked with a move for the Juventus midfielder, and while Liverpool will be desperate to bring in a potential star to replace Steven Gerrard, it has hard to imagine a player of Vidal’s quality joining a club which is not involved in Champions League football next season.
