After having watched Belgium international Simon Mignolet make a ton of errors for Liverpool this past season manger Brendan Rodgers had decided before Christmas that he would need to find a new N0.1 this summer, and while names like Asmir Begovic and Norberto Neto have been suggested as possible targets it would appear as if Brendan Rodgers has his eyes focused on Real Madrid No.2 Keylor Navas.

The 28-year-old Costa Rican international was in fantastic form while playing for Levante before joining Real Madrid in 2014 after the Spanish giants triggered his 10€ million release clause.

Navas was hoping to eventually take over the starting position from veteran Iker Casillas, but now that Manchester United’s David De Gea may be on his way to the Santiago Bernabeu he is ready to leave the club according to the Mirror.

Navas has a £10.5 million release clause built into his contract, but should De Gea arrive there is a good chance that he could be sold to Liverpool.

Navas is a quality keeper who deserves first team football, and if Liverpool can sign him for £11 million or less they will have got themselves a bargain as he really is that good.
