Liverpool star forward Raheem Sterling has put all talk of a new contract on hold so that he can concentrate on making sure the Reds have a top four finish, and Champions League football next season.

Despite the kind thoughts from the player it may come as a blow for Liverpool who are eager to tie him down to a new deal before clubs with the clout of Real Madrid or Chelsea come knocking for the 20-year-old.

The Mirror says that the England international will now not entertain contract talks until the end of the season and that it is seen as a big blow to Liverpool as Sterling dangles the bait to possible suitors.

Currently the Reds forward only makes £35,000 per week, but he reportedly turned down an offer of £100,000 per-week if he would sign a new contract just last month.
