Liverpool has decided to pull out of a deal to bring back Belgium striker Divock Origi to Anfield before the end of the season.

The Reds paid French Ligue 1 side Lille £10 million for the 19-year-old last summer with the stipulation that he remain with the French club till the end of the season.

Liverpool prior to the past few weeks had, had trouble scoring leading to the club to try and negotiate with Lille to have the youngster move to Merseyside earlier than expected, and while Lille were up for a deal they wanted £4 million in compensation.

There has now however been a change of thinking at Anfield with manager Brendan Rodgers prepared to see out the season with what he has got available.

But now they have called off a move with Rodgers content to go with what he’s got.

Daniel Sturridge is nearing full fitness and Jordan Ibe has been recalled from his loan spell at Derby County with strikers Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert starting to show they are capable of scoring also.

This now means that Liverpool appears unlikely to sign anyone before the January window slams shut.
