According to Metro quoting reports Liverpool has opened a dialog with Aston Villa star striker Christian Benteke.
Liverpool has struggled to score goals all season managing just over half of what they netted the season before when both Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge were in fine form for the club.
Aston Villa’s 24-year-old Belgium international Christian Benteke is according to the Independent Liverpool’s No.1 summer target, and that the club has now opened talks in an attempt to get him to move to Anfield.
Depending on who you listen to Benteke is valued anywhere from between £30 and £40 million, and while Villa manager Sherwood says he does not want to sell we know the clubs owner Randy Lerner will let him go for the right price.
Here at Soccer Transfer we are a little surprised that Liverpool would move for a player like Benteke after seeing how Mario Balotelli did not fit into the team.
We think the club needs another talented small player like Suarez that can occupy the minds of defenders while other Liverpool players can find space to score.
If Rodgers would go with our way of thinking the goals that have been lacking will be back for next season.
