Liverpool, Barcelona

In what is seen as an audacious move Liverpool will try to sign Barcelona wide man Bojan Krkic for a bargain price of just £5 million.

The Spanish international was once valued at £35 million when he signed for Italian Serie A side AS Roma three years ago, but Liverpool now think that they can now get him for as little as £5 million.

Krkic is currently playing on loan for Ajax where Liverpool scouts have been tracking him over recent weeks including watching him play in the surprise Europa League loss to Saltsburg last Thursday.

Despite still being only 23-years-old  the Spaniards value collapsed during an unhappy spell in Italy with Roma and then on loan to AC Milan before eventually returning to Barcelona who exercised a buy-back clause in his contract last year.

Krkic is comfortable playing in all forward positions and was looking forward to jump starting his career back at the Nou Camp, but the Catalans had different idea’s sending him on loan to Ajax of Amsterdam.

When interviewed this week he   admitted that his future is undecided raising questions about a permanent move to Holland.

“We’ll see about my future, there are still two months of the season to go before any decisions have to be made,” he explained.

Liverpool is looking at Krkic in the same way they did Inter Milan’s Philippe Coutinho who they managed to sign for only £8.5 million after seeing a talent in a player who had somehow lost his way.

Liverpool will be closely watching the situation with thoughts of signing him in the summer if he is available for the right price.
