Liverpool, Isco

When I read the news yesterday that Liverpool were lining up a £37 million bid for Isco I could just not believe it after the young Spanish star made me a big fan of his game last summer while watching the Spanish team win the U-21 European Championships that were taking place in Israel.

Isco scored three goals in the tournament one less than top scorer and now Real Madrid teammate Alvaro Morata leading to Spanish national team coach Vicente  Del Bosque referring to Isco as the future of Spain.

Prior to joining Real Madrid Isco played for his local club Malaga after growing up nearby in Benalmádena and was instrumental in getting Malaga into the Champions League.

Former Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini tried to get the 21-year-old to join him at Manchester City in England but instead he opted to sign for Real Madrid after a competition run by Spanish sports newspaper MARCA asked fans if Real Madrid could sign anyone who would it be saw Isco easily beating Gareth Bale.

Despite a great start to the season the midfielder has found it difficult to get into Carlo Ancelotti’s team after the Italian prefers to play Bale and Modric leading to speculation that Isco could possibly be open to a move.

A £37 million bid would surpass the club record that they paid for Andy Carroll and would certainly show to the world that Liverpool mean business going forward as they hopefully compete in next seasons Champions League.

For me Isco is a no brainer if they can sign him, as he will fit effortlessly into the Liverpool midfield with manager Brendan Rodgers seeing him as a long-term replacement for Steven Gerrard.
