Italian media outlet Tuttomercatoweb claims that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is looking at Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez as a possible signing, if a deal to either loan or sell Mario Balotelli to Sampdoria goes through.
The 29-year-old German international is eager to move away from his Italian club after having been given limited playing time following a £14 million move from Bayern Munich in 2013.
Gomez has in all truth been a failure at Fiorentina scoring just 14 goals in 47 appearances for the Serie A side, but we all remember watching him score plenty of goals in Germany and if he could regain his former form would be a threat in the Premiership.
