Liverpool is preparing to put some BITE in the midfield by signing Copa America winner

27-year-old Inter Milan defensive midfielder Gary Medal is according to reports in Spain ready to return the English Premiership and sign for Liverpool.

The former Cardiff City man was linked with a move to Anfield over the weekend, and would certainly add some much needed bite to manager Brendan Rodgers midfield, as you don’t get the nickname El Pit bull he picked up while at Seville for nothing.

The consensus at the moment is he is willing to look at all offers put forward before making a decision, but is certainly up for a move to Liverpool should the Reds offer appeal to him.

Liverpool certainly lacked a strong defensive midfield presence last season, and while he will not provide the beautiful passes that Reds supporters came to expect from Steven Gerrard or the occasional goal either, if you are Sakho, Skrtel, Toure or Dejan Lovren there isn’t a man you would rather see standing in front of you than Gary Medal, as he puts his heart and soul into every game and is sure to be a big fan favourite if he signs for Liverpool.
