Liverpool is not engaged in talks for Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette according to club president Jean-Michel Aulas despite numerous publications saying that the Afield club is intent on signing Ligue ones top-scorer.


The 23-year-old French international striker has averaged nearly a goal a game for Lyon scoring 31 goals in 40 appearances last season catching the attention of not only Liverpool, but Arsenal and Manchester United as well.


Reacting to reports in France that negotiations were under way with Liverpool Aulas took to twitter to deny the news saying: “Your information is false.”


“Liverpool have not called and what European cup are they playing in?


“They have neither the means nor the interest.”
