Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport is today writing that Argentinian striker Ezequiel Lavezzi is on borrowed time at Paris Saint-Germain, and would like to leave the Parc des Princes in January.

Liverpool has been linked with the 29-year-old for some time, and it is thought that a bid in the region of £8 million should be enough for the French champions to let him go.

Inter Milan were the other interested club, but now they appear poised to sign Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski, Liverpool finds them self in pole position with the player himself keen to test his ability in the English Premiership rather than to return to Serie A where he has already played for Genoa and Napoli.
