Liverpool is reported to be preparing a new bid for Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne after having their first offer of £10 million rejected by the South Coast club according to reports.

Clyne was also being linked to Manchester United, but with just one year remaining on his contract Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping that his increased offer will prompt Southampton into letting the former Crystal Palace man leave.

Saints manager Ronald Koeman is aware of the Red Devils interest in the 24-year-old and is willing to hold out until the clubs £15 million valuation of the England international is met while at the same time hoping he will have a change of heart and sign a new contract at St Mary’s.
