Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has been given a boost in his desire to sign Fiorentina attacking midfielder Josip Ilicic, according to reports.

The 36 time capped Slovenian international has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time and had North London outfit Tottenham expressing an interest last summer, but a move never materialized for the 28-year-old.

The former Palermo midfielder has brought up the prospect of a possible move to England this summer by saying he would consider all his options should any one put a bid on the table.

“It’s normal to be associated with other teams when you play for so many years in the same club,” Ilicic said.

“If we were to get a good offer in the summer, I definitely would speak with my leadership.

“In this case, we would find a solution that satisfies everyone.”

Ilcic has scored 28 goals in 88 appearances for the Serie A since making his debut for the Florence outfit in 2013.

Liverpool may, given Ilicic’s age be able to pick him up for around £5 million, but could put a package together that could also include his Italian club teammates Khouma Babacar and Matias Fernandez.
