Liverpool is keeping an eye on Spanish centre-back Inigo Martinez as a possible partner for Martin Skrtel next season.

The 23-year-old has spent his entire career at Real Sociedad, and according to Spanish newspaper El Confidential has been scouted on many occasions, including last weekend 2-0 loss to Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Liverpool realize that the Spanish youth international will not come cheap, and that they may have to pay as much as £22 million to David Moyes team in order to bring him to Anfield where he will be reunited with former international teammates Alberto Moreno and Javier Manquillo.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keeping track of Martinez, but an early raid by Liverpool may be enough to get the youngster to Anfield.

Here at Soccer Transfers we like what Rodgers is trying to do at Anfield by building a new young team and see Martinez as a logical choice.

Have a look at him in action below, and we think you will agree that Liverpool should sign him.
