Liverpool eyeing up Cardiff City defender for summer move

After learning that Cardiff City will be relegated Liverpool is showing an interest in Cardiff captain Steven Caulker and Chilean defensive midfielder Gary Medel following revelations that the pair have a clause in their contracts that let them leave should Cardiff get relegated from the English Premiership.

The Bluebirds relegation was confirmed last weekend after a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United with former Cardiff City telling the Daily Express that it is Chilean tough man Medal the one most likely to leave following the World Cup saying: “He’s captain of his country playing in the World Cup in Brazil this summer.

“Would you want to come back to play in the Championship after that?”

As for the 22-year-old England international Caulker Liverpool will need to do business early if they want to sign him as any good showing in Brazil is bound to have other clubs interested in a defender of his quality.
