It would appear as if Australian shot-stopper Brad Jones’s time at Anfield has come to an end, after reports suggest Liverpool is set to dump the 33-year-old in favour of Brazilian Norberto Neto.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is still not sold on Simon Mignolet and wants to bring in a new keeper either to replace him or at least put pressure on him for the starting spot each week.

Currently Neto plays in Italy for Fiorentina but was due to join Juventus before Brazil national team coach Dunga suggested it could affect his international career if he ended up just being an understudy to Gianliugi Buffon.

Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic is also being talked about as a possible Reds candidate, but given the fact Liverpool could sign the 25-year-old Neto for free it makes sense for the club to convince the Brazilian to move to Merseyside.
