Liverpool dealt a HUGE blow in their desire to sign £17m LB

Liverpool has been dealt a blow in their desire to find a player that can challenge Alberto Moreno at left-back after Paris Saint-Germain trainer let it be known that French international Lucas Digne is not for sale after the 22-year-old asked to leave the club so he could gain more playing time before next summer’s European Championships.

“First, it is he who very clearly asked to leave”, Blanc told L’Equipe.

“For now, he is with us, he is very professional, he trains very well and has prepared excellently. He has shown the results in friendlies.

“This is firstly a very good thing for him and possibly for us, should he stay with us this season.”

This could mean that Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers may have to rely on new signing Joe Gomez to put pressure on Moreno for the starting place in the team.
