If you happened to watch Barcelona’s 6-1 destruction of AS Roma Tuesday night at the Nou Camp you will not be surprised to hear that Roma trainer Rudi Garcia is looking to bring back Liverpool and Arsenal defensive target Mehdi Benatia.
The 28-year-old Moroccan international centre-back was sold to Bayern Munich by Roma in 2014, but has failed to make an impression in Pep Guardiola’s team that have Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Garcia wants to bring him back to the eternal city in the hope of shoring up his leaky defence.
If Bayern Munich however look like they are prepared to do a deal it will ignite both Liverpool and Arsenal’s interest as the two Premiership sides prepare for what is sure to be a tough end to the season with Arsenal eyeing the title and Liverpool set on a top-four finish.
