Line-Up: Manchester United team to play West Brom

Manchester United enjoyed a good result against Watford midweek and could now have fans looking to see which teams are above them following the Spurs, Arsenal draw yesterday as the team looks to make it five wins in a row at the Hawthorns this afternoon when they take on West Brom.

It would however still appear that this change in fortunes has come too late to save manager Louis van Gaal’s job, yet with the pressure now off the Dutchman’s decision to play youngsters out of necessity due to the clubs huge injured list has paid off.

If anyone in the team ever needed a rest it would be Dutch defender Daley Blind after having played in the last 27 matches for the Red Devils, and unless Chris Smalling is fit enough to play it looks like Blind will make it 28 in a row.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah must also be selected for this afternoons match after a rock solid first start on Wednesday. Fellaini, Valencia and Darmian are back in contention for a place in the team but with Uruguayan youngster Varela playing so well we will continue with him and his Argentinean counterpart Marcus Rojo at full-back.

Michael Carrick will be well rested following his match break, but with van Gaal now realizing that he does not need to play to defensive midfielders against a side that is playing for a point as is the case with Tony Pulis’s team, he will stick with Morgan Schneiderlin to compliment what for us was a poor performance from Ander Herrera midweek. Despite this we will still stick with him due to his aggression and pair him alongside fellow Spaniard Juan Mata.

Attack wise we have to say that local hero Marcus Rashford looked a little tired so are in two minds as to whether or not LVG will rest the youngster or bring back Jesse Lingard to play alongside Memphis Depay and Anthony Martial.

United have every chance to win this afternoons match knowing that their skill should be capable of beating a team that relies on physical aggression to get results. Our prediction is a 1-2 Manchester United win.

Have a look at our team selection below and see if you think we got it right.
