LINE-UP Manchester United team to play Newcastle

Despite not setting the world on fire with their start to the season, Manchester United will look to rack up a further three points this lunchtime when they welcome Newcastle to Old Trafford.

So far the Red Devils have two wins under their belt without having conceded a goal in the Premiership along with a 3-1 Champions League qualifier win against club Brugge.

Yet despite the perfect record plenty of questions are still being asked as Louis van Gaal’s team of stars is yet to dominate any one game making us think that the Dutchman may look to make some changes against the Magpies.

Manchester-United-formation-tactics

Goalkeeper:

With the debacle surrounding David De Gea yet to be concluded new signing Sergio Romero will be in nets once more hoping to keep his third clean sheet as a Manchester United player.

Defence:

So far United has looked strong at the back with the only goal being conceded, an error from United DM Michael Carrick.
Phil Jones is side-lined with an injury, and Marcos Rojo is still working on his fitness so we expect no changes to the back two of Daley Blind and Chris Smalling, while Damian and Shaw play out on the flanks.

Midfield:

In front of the defence will be Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger who we expect to get the start after having seen Carrick leave the field at halftime midweek.
Still only having Wayne Rooney to rely on as a main striker the emphasis will be on Memphis Depay, Juan Mate and youngster Adnan Januzaj to provide the goals for United as Rooney struggles to get his form back.

Attack:

Van Gaal does have the option of playing James Wilson or Javier Hernandez up front, but we think he will stick with the England captain in the hope that once he breaks his duck there will be no stopping him.
As a side note should United find themselves struggling come the second half look for Marouane Fellaini to come off the bench and try and make an impact as he did against the Belgium’s midweek.
