Arsenal and Liverpool have both received a huge boost in their desire to sign Ligue 1 leading goal scorer Alexandre Lacazette after Lyon trainer Hubert Fournier admitted that the clubs star player could leave for £35m.

Liverpool has a huge desire to sign the 24-year-old French international, but just like Christian Benteke is put off by the huge asking fee when you have strikers out their such as Salomon Rondon available for less than half what it would cost to sign Lacazette or Benteke.

As for Arsenal, yes the club likes him very much, but what we can tell is that Wenger seems to have his heart set on Karim Benzema, who if available would probably sell for around the same price Lyon wants for their main man.

Fournier told L’Equipe: ‘I’m not worried about Alexandre. Of course, if a €50-60m (£35m-£45m) bid was tabled, I will no doubt have to prepare for his exit and wish him good luck, but I really feel like he wants to stay.’
