Just like we announced back on 14 July, Leroy Sané signed for Manchester City for between £37m and £46.5m, depending on the source. It took a little more than two weeks for the bid to be accepted and for the deal to be made official, but now it is, and the young German winger is Pep Guardiola’s fifth signing after Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Aaron Mooy and Alexander Zinchenko.

Manchester City and Pep Guardiola have been trying to sign Sané for a while now, and had a £32m bid refused last winter.

The super-talented 20-year-old German offensive player will sign a four-year deal with City, and will add to the competition on the wings, where City have players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Jesus Navas. Guardiola also signed Nolito.

Sané, a left-footed right winger, prefers to cut inside onto his left foot, and brings both goals and assists. He is versatile and can play on the right or behind the striker as well. He’ll be challenging Raheem Sterling and Jesus Navas for a starting spot as both have been inconsistent performers.
