FRANK LAMPARD will be part of Roy Hodgson’s England ‘revolution’.

Lamps is a Lion again

The 34-year-old Chelsea veteran will be recalled for next week’s friendly against Italy after missing Euro 2012 through injury.

He has survived an expected cull of top names for a match coming less than eight weeks after Italy dumped England out of the finals.

Skipper Steven Gerrard, Gareth Barry and Ashley Cole are among several senior players being rested.

Boss Hodgson will begin reconstructing his team in what he dubbed a ‘revolution’ ahead of qualification for the 2014 World Cup.

Boss Hodgson names his squad on Friday but Lampard’s inclusion gives the 90-capped star a chance of reaching his target of a century of games for his country.

Hodgson is set to bring in a few younger faces for next Wednesday’s match against Italy on neutral territory in Switzerland.

Lampard’s Chelsea team-mates Daniel Sturridge and Gary Cahill are likely to get a call.
