Shinji Kagawa has made a return to Dortmund with a view to begin a second spell at Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund side.

The Japanese player, who moved to Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in July, 2012 in a deal worth £12m, has sealed a deal that takes him back to Borussia Dortmund in what looks like a reversible reaction, for £8m.

Jurgen Klopp repeatedly made it clear that Kagawa would be welcomed back with open arms, after 2 years away probably because of the player’s fine form and performances for the team when in Germany.

However, Kagawa’s move to Dortmund may just pose the prospect of having Marco Reus moving to England with Arsenal.

Many believe that Kagawa’s transfer was not only a result of Manchester United’s willingness to sell the player and Borussia Dortmund’s willingness to pay up and bring in the player, but probably the projected departure of Marco Reus.

Marco Reus turned down a big money move to Manchester United and rejected the offer of contract extension at his Borussia Dortmund club this summer fuelling a lot of speculations linking him to Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger’s known admiration for the player’s style of play and the fact that the German was reportedly on the verge of joining the Gunners in May before he got injured in the game against Armenia, when preparing for the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Germany.

Shinji Kagawa plays the same attacking roles as Marco Reus and as the German has refused to extend his contract with the German heavyweights, Jurgen Klopp may just be replacing Marco Reus with Shinji Kagawa, the Japanese attacking midfielder.

However, Arsene Wenger this summer saw no need to bring in another striker after Alexis Sanchez because of the array of stars available to the club across the attack.

But an injury to the big man top striker, Olivier Giroud not only made many Arsenal fans see the importance of the player’s frame and build but also made many of them yearn for a quick replacement of the Frenchman, who is out until January, missing half of the season.

There have been many indications and suggestions that Wenger would buy a big name player before the transfer window slams shut on Monday despite the fact that the Arsenal manager dismissed any links to players in his recent interview.

While many Radamel Falcao stories have emerged in the media over the past 3 days, in the supporters’ and journalists’ blind spot, may just stand Marco Reus, the German exciting player.

Reus who plays as a winger and an attacking midfielder may just be converted to a Henry-like striker, always cutting in from the wings.

The 25-year-old, known for versatility, speed and technique that would really fit into Arsenal’s attacking style of play.

A lot of speculations linking this player to Arsenal were once flooding the media until they cooled off with the emergence of Edinson Cavani and now Radamel Falcao.

The growing German players in the Arsenal squads, the lure of the English Premier League and UEFA Champions League action and the joy of playing with his professed role model, Tomas Rosicky, may have some influence over the player.

If the player, however, stays in Germany without leaving this summer and still rejects the contract extension offer from his Borussia Dortmund side, then we may likely see him in the red and white of Arsenal next summer.
