Juventus are doing everything in their power to sign Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez as the Chile international hasn’t yet signed a new deal with the Gunners and has only two years left in his contract that expires in summer 2018. The Bianconeri intend to sign Sanchez and are prepared to offer striker Mario Mandžukić as partial compensation.

Arsenal want to keep their star player but haven’t been successful with the contract talks that are ongoing since May. Alexis Sanchez expects a major pay rise and has other demands, as we’ve explained in detail here. Sanchez’s hesitation to sign the contract with Arsenal has drawn the interest of Juventus, Calciomercatoweb reports.

Juventus are hoping to make use of the situation and sign Sanchez, while also trying to get rid of Croatian striker Mario Mandžukić who is down the pecking order since Gonzalo Higuain was signed. Knowing the striker position is a big headache for Arsene Wenger, Juventus have it all figured out and want to poach the Arsenal star player while solving their striker situation.

However, Arsenal would only accept such a deal if they would really be forced to, if they’d be in danger of losing Sanchez on a free transfer. It’s up to Sanchez now, he should make his intents known in the coming months, he will either sign a new deal or will continue his career elsewhere. If he opts for the latter, Juventus will be waiting.

Alexis Sanchez has recently stated that he reached the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, and that he’s capable of doing the same stuff they’re doing. In five matches for Arsenal in this BPL season, he scored 3 goals and made 2 assists. He also scored in Paris in the Champions League encounter with PSG.

Juventus are doing well in Serie A and are 2nd on the league table with three wins, having lost the visit to Inter Milan in the fourth round.
