News out of Turkey is that Jose Mourinho will make a move for Galatasaray’s Yilmaz after the striker nearly signed for Lazio in the summer.

The Turkish striker was also strongly linked to both Liverpool and Arsenal but ended up staying in Istanbul for another season with Galatasaray.

Eurosport Turkey is claiming that the Chelsea boss is a long-time fan of Yilmaz and is prepared to offer Chelsea striker Demba Ba in part exchange in order to get him to come to London.

Mourinho had considered bidding on the 28-year-old during the summer but was put off by the £20 million that Galatasaray were asking, but a compromise might be found should Chelsea offer Ba as part of a deal.

Last season Yilmaz scored 32 goals in 39 games for his club prompting Mourinho to say ahead of his then Real Madrid Champions League clash with the Turkish giants saying: “Drogba, Sneijder and Burak [Yilmaz] could play for any team in the world.”

Meanwhile Senegalese striker Ba has fallen out of favour at the Bridge and could very well be leaving in the New Year with a move to Turkey could be appealing to Ba giving him the opportunity to play for the clubs new coach Roberto Mancini.
