Things are moving fast with regards to Manchester United’s summer transfer needs, with their latest transfer target, Italian international right-back Matteo Darmian agreeing personal terms to move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United will pay Torino £12.7 million for the 25-year-old, which given his rise through the ranks to be a first-choice for Italian national team trainer Antonio Conte seems like an absolute bargain.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio says a major breakthrough was made last night, and that Darmian will link up with his new teammates at Carrington next week to prepare for the teams pre-season tour of North America.

This deal now means that Manchester United can now offload Rafael, who is not thought to be in manager Louis van Gaal’s plans for the club.
