Everyone you will ask will tell you the same thing, and that is that striker Mario Balotelli has played his last game for Liverpool.

The Italian international was a last minute summer signing by Brendan Rogers, with the Northern Irishman rolling the dice on the 24-year-old who had already played in the English Premiership with Manchester City.

In the end Balotelli was just not a good fit for Liverpool, never producing the goals that were expected from him.

Now Liverpool will look to offload the failed experiment this summer, and given his performance will be lucky to get back a large percentage of the £16 million they paid to AC Milan.

One club that is interested however is Sampdoria with club president Massimo Ferrero confirming that they would be interested in taking him off Liverpool’s hands.

“Balotelli at Sampdoria? Should the player come to Italy, we would open our doors,” Ferrero told Radio Crc.
