When Thiabut Courtois was dropped from the Chelsea team that took on Swansea city over the weekend, many thought the big Belgian goalkeeper was injured but it has now been confirmed that he is in fact dropped and not that he was injured.

Now according to daily express, Asmir Begovic who replaced Thiabut Courtois in goal for Chelsea over the weekend is now manager Antonio Conte’s preferred choice for the goalkeeping role. Express claims Antonio Conte has instructed interim manager Guus Hiddink to play the Bosnian ahead of Thiabut Courtois in advance for next season.

What does this mean for Courtois?

The la liga winner himself has recently confirmed he could be out of Stamford Bridge this summer. With Real Madrid said to be monitoring the situation of the Belgian, it won’t be a surprise if Courtois leaves Chelsea this summer.

With David De Gea looking like he will continue with Manchester United for the time being after penning a new deal with the Red Devils last summer, Courtois accoridng to daily mail is a key target for Real Madrid this summer and the Los Blancos will be testing Chelsea with a £60 million big for Courtois.

For £60 million, it will be almost impossible to see Chelsea rejecting such an offer and in my opinion, they shouldn’t. If Courtois wants to leave, Chelsea should let him go especially if £60 million is the price that will be paid for him.

With Barca’s Marc-André ter Stegen likely to be available this summer and Keylor Navas also likely to be available, Chelsea can bring in another keeper from the money from the sale of COurtois and let’s face it, Asmir Begovic is not a bad keeper as well.
