Inter have joined Juventus in the race for Bologna star Alessandro Diamanti.

The Italy international appeared destined to join the Scudetto holders this summer as both sides had been in talks over the attacker for a number of weeks.

Nevertheless, Inter are keen to hijack the Turin giants’ move for Diamanti as they bid to bolster their forward line at the end of a season of great inconsistency.

The San Siro side have yet to make an official offer for the former West Ham forward, but plan to contact Bologna in the upcoming days to discuss a potential summer transfer.

Diamanti has been linked with a move away from his current employers on a regular basis since joining the Rossoblu in the summer of 2011 and it is believed the player is determined to make the step up.

The 29-year-old will not be available on the cheap, though, as he has a contract with Bologna until the summer of 2017.
