Amidst the uncertainty surrounding Mesut Ozil’s contract extension at the Arsenal, the attacker has come out to say that he is “very happy” at the club.

Ozil, 27, reportedly is yet to agree on extending his stay at the club. His contract runs out in the summer of 2018 and the club is claimed to be desperate to tie their star player to a new deal,

The player earlier revealed that he is in no hurry as regards discussing his future but that, however, spewed fuel on rumours linking him out of the Emirates stadium. The Gunners have performed below expectations this season, where they saw all possible trophies elude them despite being the top performers at the first half of the campaign.

Hence, the German maestro having seen his chances and assists count for nothing in the 2015/2016 season was reported to be weighing the options of a potential exit from the club.

However, he has debunked such rumours, stating that he is ready to help the club reach great feats in the near future.

He told Surface (via the London Evening Standard): “I am under contract with Arsenal and I am very happy to be here now.

“I do not think about the future, I just think my current situation.

“I have goals for Arsenal. In the future you can never know in football.”

The German maestro boasts of the most chances created across Europe’s top five leagues, with 141 chances created thus far this season, it becomes a thing of scorn to see him get the PFA snub this season.

The fans will be hoping that their star man continues being happy while he pens a new deal in coming months. Meanwhile Arsene Wenger is adamant that all contract talks with their star players will commence once this season ends.
