This could prove to be a huge blow to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s summer transfer plans after learning that Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho will be out for three months with a foot injury.
Wenger is known to be a huge fan of the 23-year-old, and was believed ready to make a bid for the Portuguese international following a standout performance for his country in the U-21 European Championships which were held recently in the Czech Republic.
The chance of him now coming to the Emirates is over following fracture to the tibia, which will leave him on the side-lines for around 12-weeks.
