Arsenal are set to finalise the signing of their first summer signing as the Gunners have reportedly finally made a breakthrough in their discussion with Nigeria football academy Diamond Football Academy and the Gunners will now be completing the signing of Nigeria under 17 world cup winner Samuel Chukwueze.

The Nigerian club president Martin Apugo had made it clear he would not like the player to go to Arsenal but to another unnamed club but it appears player power has won the race for Arsenal as the player himself wants the move more than anything.

Martin Apugo has now admitted the player will be off to Arsenal this summer and will undergo pre-season training with the Gunners.

“Chukwueze is still joining Arsenal, he will travel any moment from now to start training with them.

I didn’t want him to go to Arsenal, wanted him to go somewhere else but he said he’ll be happy if he goes to Arsenal.”

The youngster has always been linked with a move to Arsenal ever since Nigeria won the FIFA under 17 world cup in 2015. Arsenal had already signed Chukwueze’s colleague Kelechi Nwakali who emerged the best player at the tournament. Both Nwakali and Chukwueze were said to be joining Arsenal at the same time but the reluntancy of Chukwueze’s club meant the deal had to be delayed.
