Hamsik, Napoli, Serie A, Liverpool, Skrtel,

This is according to Napoli’s talented midfielder Slovakian international Marek Hamsik who scored twice during the clubs first game of the season in which they beat Bologna 3-0 on Sunday.

Last season the Partenopei finished runners up to the Old Lady Juventus, but this year Hamsik thinks Napoli have what it takes to win the title telling Gazzetta dello Sport.

They are favourites, but we will focus only on our games,” the attacking midfielder is quoted as saying by Gazzetta dello Sport.

“But certainly I hope that to have started the season in this way shows we can win something. We’ll put it all on the line; we will give our best”.

Hamsik has made a name for himself in Italy, and is regarded as one of the best midfielders in Serie A, and despite interest from big name clubs the 26-year-old is quite content to remain in Naples.

“I’ve never felt the need to change city,” the 26-year-old insisted. “I don’t want that. I feel loved by fans; I do not need anything else.”

Napoli’s new boss has made some significant signings this summer following the sale of Edinson Cavani to PSG, and could also still bring in Liverpool and Hamsik’s international teammate Martin Skrtel to help shore up the Italians defence.

New boss Rafa Benitez has strengthened his side considerably this summer by signing the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Pepe Reina but he will have to do without Edinson Cavani, who joined PSG for £54 million earlier in the transfer window.
