All the latest transfer talk from the Emirates

Change is the only thing constant in life. It seems Arsene Wenger has finally decided to change his approach to the transfer market as according to reports, Arsenal could be completing the shock signing of Borussia Monchengladbach’s Granit Xhaka three months before the transfer window officially opens.

The surprising thing is Wenger has not let the transfer dragged on and on till another club comes him and snap up the youngster. Three weeks ago, BILD, the popular German media house reported that Arsene Wenger has been meeting with Xhaka’s father in a bid to convince both the player and his father who doubles as his agent to sign for the Gunners.

Newer reports today claim the player himself is ready to join Arsenal. This is what encouraged Arsenal to table an opening bid of £24m for the player which was widely reported by many media outlets. The new encouragement Arsenal have received from the player himself is said to have given Arsene Wenger and deal maker Dick Law that a deal could be agreed before the transfer window officially opens.

Although Borussia Monchengladbach are said to be holding out for a free upward of £30 million or something closer to his £34 million release clause.

If this reports are true, Arsenal will be getting one of the best defensive midfielders in the game, it will also mean Arsene Wenger has finally seen the light. As no one would have expected the Frenchman to be willing to pay as much as £30 not to talk of £34 million for a defensive midfielder.

It could also mean Wenger is bullish and may be breaking Arsenal’s £42.5m transfer record in this window.
