German World Cup star Matts Hummels is apparently ready to sign for Manchester United as his current club where he earns a paltry £51,000 per-week struggles to remain in the top tier of the Bundesliga despite just squeezing by Hanover 2-3 at the weekend.

The Borussia Dortmund centre-back has been on manager Louis van Gaal’s wish list since he took over at Old Trafford last summer, and now amid talk that the Westphalia club is ready to sell him at the end of the season, United is first in the queue for the 26-year-olds signature.

According to reports Hummels is fed up with life at the Signal Iduna Park and has set his sights on the English Premiership with a move to Old Trafford being his preferred destination.

Arsenal is also said to be interested in the German defender but for all intents and purposes we expect to see the £36 million rated player in Salford next season.
