A host of Premier League sides including Arsenal are on alert as to the future of Marseille winger Dimitri Payet who could be available for as little as £6 million.

Last summer Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham were interested in signing the French international before he moved to the Stade Velodrome from Ligue 1 rivals Lille for £12 million with Sam Allardyce once again sending scouts to watch him play in recent weeks.

According to the Daily Mirror quoting French sports newspaper L’Equipe Marseille must come up with £4.8 million before June 30th, and it looks like the 27-year-old Payet may be their best source of income.

Despite having scored eight goals in 35 matches Payet was substituted 21 times, and now that he failed to get a place in Les Blues World Cup squad is seen as being expendable.
