Fellaini, Everton, MAN United, Martinez,

Sky Sports is reporting that Everton boss Roberto Martinez has approached Wigan over Republic of Ireland international James McCarthy.

Martinez is said to be a huge fan of the 22-year-old, and sees him as a ready-made replacement for Everton’s Belgium international Marouane Fellaini who has been linked all summer with a move to either Manchester United or Arsenal.

Wigan manager Owen Coyle has confirmed Everton’s interest in the former Hamilton man but says so far he has not received any bid.

It is a very positive sign that Fellaini is on his way out of Goodison Park, but Everton could face some stiff opposition from Newcastle United who are also thought to be interested in the Wigan player.
