Falcao

Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is refusing to rule out a big money transfer to Madrid, even though he just signed for newly promoted French Ligue 1 side Monaco in the summer.

Earlier this week Real Madrid president Florentino Perez hinted at the fact Real Madrid may make a bit for the former Atletico striker this next summer.

Perez also told reporters that he has spoken to Falcao about a possible deal, and it is well known that he has a loophole in his contract that allows him to leave if real Madrid put in an offer for his services.

Insisting that he is happy in the South of France Falcao did not rule out a return to the Spanish capital.

“All I can do is thank Florentino for his words but I have to respect my current club Monaco, who have made me feel very good and I am very happy,” Falcao said at a promotional event in Bogota.

“It doesn’t seem right to talk about Real Madrid’s possible interest at the moment out of respect for the institution to which I am contracted to as of today.”

If real Madrid is serious in trying to get Falcao they would be expected to pay at least the £50 million that Monaco paid to Atletico for the 27-year-old striker.

A move for Falcao would also quash any hopes of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez moving to Madrid this January with my feelings on the matter being that while Real Madrid would love to sign the Colombian a lot will depend on where they are in the league and in the Champions League this coming January when the need for a quality finisher might just tip the scales in favour of the Uruguayan.
