A Chelsea insider has revealed to American television network NBC that Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard were being the firing of team manager Jose Mourinho.

The source confirmed that Mourinho had been facing mounting opposition from the players over his antics, while continuing to distance himself from the team’s poor results leading to Fabregas complaining to the clubs hierarchy as to why he was being continually benched by the Portuguese manager.

What now appears to have been the final straw for the board, was Mourinho’s comments following the 2-1 loss at Leicester City, in which he said he felt “betrayed” by his players.

As for Hazard his troubles with Mourinho started with the incident involving Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro situation on the first day of the season after the Blues physio was hauled over the coals for going on the pitch to treat the Belgium playmaker forcing the club to be two men short late into the game.

Since then the PFL player of the year has been a shadow of the player we all know he is, and it will be interesting to see if the old Hazard returns to form now that Mourinho has been let go.
