According to the Telegraph Everton is concerned that they will not be able to prevent star centre-back John Stones from Joining Chelsea.
While Everton manger Roberto Martinez continues to tow the clubs line saying that the 21-year-old England international is not for sale, he is increasingly worried that the Blues next bid will be over £30 million and that the Toffee’s will then be forced to make a decision.
Everton may in fact realize that they are fighting a losing battle, which is why they are making enquiries as to the availability of Manchester United’s Jonny Evans, Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk and Swansea’s Ashley Williams as they look to cover their bases should Stones leave for London.
