Barcelona has decided that Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey is the man they want to replace Xavi, and are willing to pay the Gunners £50 million to facilitate a move to Spain.
This season’s La Liga champions see the 24-year-old fitting perfectly into the Barcelona puzzle with The Sun claiming that trainer Luis Enrique has sent scout’s to watch the Welsh international no less than 12 times this season, and are expected to be at the FA Cup final against Aston Villa as well.
Initially it was Jack Wilshere who was on the Catalan giant’s radar, but after watching Ramsey in action it soon became apparent that he was the player they needed to be scouting.
The current transfer ban has no impact on the clubs thinking, and if need be they will sign Ramsey this summer and loan him out until the ban is lifted in January.
Wenger has said that Arsenal is no more a selling club, but surely must be tempted should an offer as large as £50 million appear on his desk.
