ENGLAND’S Euro 2012 opener against France has been shunned by fans — with thousands of tickets left unsold.
The Group D clash at the 51,000-capacity Donbass Arena could feature numerous empty seats due to steep hotel prices and transport headaches.
Also talk of the measles epidemic, and racist local fans has made many people decide to stay home, and watch the matches on television instead.
And the FA have sold only 3,000 of their 7,500 tickets for Monday’s game in Donetsk.
England’s Football Supporters Federation spokesman Kevin Miles said: “It is hard to get flights and hotel prices have been inflated.”
UEFA said 10,000 tickets remain unsold for matches in Ukraine.
