DI MARIA SET FOR MANCHESTER UNITED MEDICALS

According to reports on Sky Sports, Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria will fly in today to undergo a medical at Manchester United for a British record transfer fee of around £63.9M which will surpass the transfer fee paid for Fernando Torres by Chelsea to Liverpool in January 2011.

Despite the club been reported to have agreed a transfer fee for Angel Di Maria, Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal refused to confirm the deal with everyone waiting for an official announcement from the club.

Angel Di Maria who initially opted for Paris Saint German will be disappointed when the deal fell through due to the UEFA fair play rule.

Real Madrid are looking to recoup the cash they spent on James Rodriguez refused to loan Angel Di Maria which opened the way for Manchester United with the winger determined to leave Santiago Bernabau as he fell down the pecking order with the arrival of James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos.

Di Maria signing will be of high importance for Manchester United if the deal can be done with little or no creative spark from the midfield leaving attackers wanted in the opposition’s half.

Former Manchester United defender earlier disclosed to Sky Sports that Angel Di Maria is a good fit for the club stating that it’s been 12 years since the club made a marque signing.

Di Maria’s ability to lift and change a game with his pace, vision and dribbling attributes will be something to savour in the current Manchester United squad.

Di Maria’s exit has been confirmed by Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti and a twitter message by teammate Xabi Alonso but Manchester United fans will hope the deal can be completed soon for a star man who will probably pick up the number 7 jersey dropped by Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Angel Di Maria is no doubt a top world class player whose influence in a team can be easily seen and United manager and fans will be pleased to have him play for the club especially now that they are in the process of rebuilding.

The level of confidence in the team has dropped and signing of Angel Di Maria will help bring in so much of that as supported by former United striker Dwight Yorke.

According to sky sports reports, Football agent James Featherstone also revealed on Monday that more players will join Manchester United this season after Di Maria with less than one week left in the current transfer window.

Daley Blind, Arturo Vidal and Nigel De Jong have all been linked with a late summer swap to Old Trafford.

Juventus already made it clear they are not prepared to sell their star midfielder £63.9m but with Manchester United making a recent attractive bid, it’s left to be seen if Vidal will be a Manchester United player by next month.
