Gerard Deulofeu’s agent Gines Carvajal has made it clear that the promising youngster is keen to sign a contract extension with Barcelona.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the most promising players to have come through the Blaugrana’s youth academy in recent years and a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, are said to be monitoring his situation.

Nevertheless, Deulofeu has no intention to leave the Camp Nou side any time soon and is ready to extend his current deal, which is due to expire in 2014.

“There will be no problems renewing his contract whenever Barca want to,” Carvajal was quoted as saying by Marca.

“Gerard is very young and doing very well in the B team.”

Deulofeu has scored 18 goals in 27 Segunda Division appearances for Barcelona B so far this term. He has been unable to find the net in four appearances in all competitions for the first team.
