For some time now Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea was being tipped to join Spanish giants Real Madrid after stalling on signing a new contract at Old Trafford.

The European champions saw the 24-year-old De Gea as the ideal replacement for veteran goalkeeper Iker Casillas, but may now have to look elsewhere after reports in British tabloid newspaper the Sun say the Spanish international is ready to snub Real Madrid and remain at Old Trafford signing a new two-year contract which will see him earn £200,000 per-week.

If this news comes to fruition it will have many Red Devil fans relieved as the young Spaniard has become an integral part of manager Louis van Gaal’s team.
