Kenny Dalglish has no regrets at having accepted an SOS call from Liverpool and says he is happy to do the job for as long as his services are required.
An Anfield icon from his playing days and first spell as Reds boss, the Scot returned to the helm in the wake of Roy Hodgson’s departure in January 2011.
He penned a three-year contract in May of that year and has led Liverpool to Carling Cup glory and a place in the FA Cup final during his first full season in charge.
He has, however, been unable to fire the Reds back into the Premier League title picture and has seen some of his transfer business questioned.
Dalglish acknowledges that it is difficult to keep everyone happy all of the time and claims he would understand if Liverpool’s American owners decided to take the club in a different direction.
He is still enjoying his time in the Anfield hot-seat, though, and will continue to give his all to the post until told otherwise.
Ahead of Sunday’s home date with West Brom, Dalglish said: “I was asked to come back here and it was an honour and a privilege to do so. There was no hesitation in my decision, and if I was asked again tomorrow, I would do exactly the same thing.
“For me, the aim was to move the club forward and that is what we’re all trying to do to the best of our ability.

“It doesn’t matter what happens to Kenny Dalglish. All that matters is Liverpool Football Club. As long as this club doesn’t suffer, then that’s okay with me. I’ll just come into work every day, work as hard as I can and live up to my responsibilities, and we will see what happens from there.”
